Panther Girl 02 - Cover

Well... Here goes! Wheeeeeeee! :boogie:

The cover is not an exact panel from the story, but a conceptual picture that helps you to understand that some heroines are going down and that the Panther Girl is now truly the Dark Panther, servant of the Mad One and his new evil acquaintance/rival the Dastardly Disruptor. :wow:

I'm still working out the story line and set up for the first few pages, but I thought I'd share this. I hope it pleases. :)

Ahhh... the joys and frustrations of using Poser. Let me say up front that you have managed to overcome some of the more serious limit...

I've been meaning to comment, so perhaps a critique would be the way to go. First, you appear to be using Poser or Daz Studio, an...

Watchers

Another burst of creativity... or something!

Perhaps sleep deprivation agrees with me... :hmm:

Anyway, despite working an extra shift this week I pretty much put the finishing touches on the lab of the Future Girl. I tried to give it a cleaner, brighter look than the lair of the Mad One. I want to set the Future Girl up as nearly impossible for the Dark Panther to beat, but... well, that would be telling, wouldn't it. ;)

I may have used too many reflective surfaces as it takes quite a while to render each scene with all the ray tracing bounces, but I like it and have decided to continue even though rendering is a bit more of a trial than usual (and it usually bites). :slamhead:

I should acknowledge the artists at DAZ3d whose mesh "the girl" is the basis for Penny Bryte and the Dazzle Dolly. The artists at Content Paradise provide Miki, the mesh from which I developed the character of the Future Girl. I make some of my own props using Hexagon, Wings and Carrara for development. When I look at the complexities of the humanoid 3D meshes that I only lightly tweak, I am in awe. I'd like to think that with enough practice someday I could create my own character from scratch. I probably won't live long enough, though. :(

Hey... I thought I was over birthday morbidity!! ;)

Bottom line, I think I will be getting through the Kaanga meets Mitsuko episode this week and on to the first confrontation of a hapless heroine (Occulta) by the Dark Panther. :mwahaha:

I have been known in the news groups and web venues as Mike B. I enjoy leggy women in situations where they are imperiled. I particularly am drawn to unconsciousness.

I'm a bit of a fetishist so enjoy skin tight clothing.

I don't particularly like realistic violence (blood, bruises, etc.) but am fascinated by the stylized violence of cartoon superheroines.

I suppose all this is apparent in my attempts at art and in what I collect as favored here at DA.

FYI

Denis Kitchen said he'll be renewing the Li'l
Abner series next year where it left off.
:iconmike51b:
Thanks for the tip. I must continue my collection if he is able to follow through on that plan! :)

:icondragila:
I see Daisy Mae is one of your favorites - have
you ever drawn her ?
:iconmike51b:
Yes, I've tried many times. I particularly like her appearance from my boyhood in the 50's and 60's when she was being drawn by Frank Frazetta as much as or more than Capp. What a gal! :D

:icondragila:
I'd love to see your efforts. The late 40's were good, too. Many
different artists worked for Capp.
:iconmike51b:
Capp had a regular factory. I'm a devotee of the books chronicling his work by the (now sadly defunct) Kitchen Sink Press.

I'll look around in my files. If I find something suitable, I'll scan and post to my scraps section. Stand by. :)

Dear Mike,

I hope you still have my request in mind :]

I do. I've mentioned it to my model as well. We'll see. :)
